Delfina made up her mind. She would put her trust in her king and fight on. She would follow him into hell, if it came to that. The king had pledged his soul to protect his people, and if he was willing incorporate some wicked elements to do so, she could do the same. Or perhaps there was a way to warn the king away from evil. But amidst the ruined wastelands, flowery words had little more significance than weeds growing by the roadside.
