Chus was deeply dissatisfied with life. Many people had shown her kindness, yet fate was far less gentle. With no scapegoat upon which to release her sorrow, it slowly transmogrified into envy. Her jealousy towards the happiness of others hardened her mind into iron: cold, unfeeling, and immovable.
