Olgast visited the lair of a wizened beast daily to partake of its endless fount of knowledge in the heretical arts. Unfortunately, the hideous creature passed away in solitude, having no other acquaintances. Without any living relatives for himself, the sage being was also Olgast's sole confidant. He then extracted its heart and fashioned it into a staff, so that it would always be at his side in battle.
