The Coralplume Waterfowl were highly valued for the concentration of mana in their feathers. Once commonplace, centuries of hunting reduced their numbers to but a single colony of less than one hundred birds. Yet even in their precarious position, they were fortunate to receive the protection of the lovely Empress Phoenica.
