The peaceful town of Yadmous feared their infamous neighbor Madrous, where crime reigned freely, so much that the people built a high stone wall and kept records on all who entered. These measures allowed them to maintain their modest livelihoods, but it did not prevent all problems, such as the recent string of disappearing travelers. Most worrying was how the town's cornerstone of peace, Cleané's chapel, also served as center of the incident, for each victim had visited her confessional.
