The aviron Maune greatly admired her people's sage, who resided in a sanctuary known as the Sky Nest and waged a never-ending battle against forces that sought to contaminate the endless blue skies. Every ten years, a ritualistic feast was held to give thanks to the sky and the sage, and Maune was chosen to lead the sage's personal guard. It was the opportunity of a lifetime, yet her hopes were shattered when the other guardsmen declared mutiny.
