In the northernmost extremes of Neotellus was a raging volcano known as Mount Gehenna. A nearby tribe once threw a sacrificial maiden into the crater, believing that would appease its fury. All expected she had been swallowed by the molten lava, but some years later, a familiar-looking woman appeared who was able to manipulate both the bitter chill of the land and the scorching heat of magma. It was indeed that same girl, for the trial she experienced had awoken her latent magical powers, and she became known as Quidral the Frostburn Sage.
