These false kings brought about an era of even fiercer tumult and conflict. Calatona, then queen of the elves, could no longer bear it. Through force and diplomacy, she crafted the Edict of Unity and sealed away the stone. Rather than depending upon it to choose a ruler, they would be elected by the people at fixed intervals. Furthermore, the heirs of each race would attend a special academy to learn cooperation and trust. In this way, the tribulation ceased and a true era of peace prevailed.
