Experts from all corners of the world convened to discuss various subjects from philosophy to entertainment. Half-facetiously calling themselves 'sages', their ultimate goal was to foster understanding and end the incessant wars. However, so many deviating opinions made consensus difficult, and the forum lasted for years with no end in sight. Meanwhile, the Jabberwock, deep in the nearby forest, was assaulted by their ideological dispute. Out of madness and self-defense, it attacked the conference and killed everyone in presence. As its rampage continued, mankind was forced to unite against a common enemy, calling for a rare truce in their own wars. It was not until a number of actual sages were gathered that a solution to placate the monster was found.
